diy cardigan sweater

i have been seriously craving some cardigan sweaters, so i got crafty and made my own out of an old shirt!

this is a totally cute thermal i got from old navy last christmas, i think....
only problem is that it is kinda short so i always have to wear an undershirt beneath it
so i figured it would be the perfect candidate for a cardigan

fold your shirt in half length wise to get a straight line down the middle
also, if you prefer to have a shorter cardigan, you can hem the bottom
i chose not to, but it is very easy to hem

i pinned the ruler down to the fabric, just to guarantee that i got a straight line

snipsnipsnip.
the crochet part is kind of tricky, and i recommend to not use a yarn this thick if you aren't an experienced crocheter. what i did was poke 22 small holes up the front of the cardigan and crocheted inside of those holes. super super super easy!

this is two rows, but i ended up doing three.
repeat the same process on the other side.

and VOILA!
insanely cute cardigan :)

oh, and hey there super cute leg warmers.
i love to wear you :)
